Hubergroup Unveils NewV tin LED MGA: Food-Safe LED-UV Ink for Three-Piece Cans at METPACK 2026

At Metpack 2026, global ink leader hubergroup launched NewV tin LED MGA, a breakthrough food-grade LED-UV curing ink engineered specifically for three-piece can printing on tinplate packaging. This innovation marks a major leap in sustainable metal decorating—combining regulatory compliance, energy efficiency, and premium print quality.

Formulated to meet stringent German GIO (Good Industrial Practice) guidelines and EU food contact material (FCM) regulations, NewV tin LED MGA contains no BPA, PFAS, or CMR substances, ensuring safety for direct and indirect food applications—from tea tins and confectionery boxes to nicotine pouch containers and cosmetic compacts.

Unlike conventional thermal-cure or mercury-UV systems, the LED-UV technology delivers instant curing at low temperatures, slashing energy consumption by up to 70% and eliminating VOC emissions. The result? Sharper dot reproduction, higher gloss, and superior adhesion—even on complex book-shaped or hinged tin designs—without compromising recyclability or interfering with metal scrap reprocessing.

“NewV tin LED MGA is built for the future of circular packaging,” said a hubergroup spokesperson. “It enables brands to achieve luxury aesthetics while meeting ESG goals and global compliance demands.”

Ideal for OEM custom tin manufacturers, this ink supports high-speed sheetfed offset printing and aligns with rising demand for eco-friendly, reusable, and plastic-free metal packaging solutions in 2026 and beyond.
